My family and I are new to the Raleigh area. We recently relocated and are in the process of burrowing into the lovely little suburb of Clayton. We still feel pretty brand new. It has been a learning adventure for all of us. I am married to my high school love. We just hit 17 years this winter. My husband is a United States Marine Corps Combat Veteran, so while we're new to Raleigh, we have previously lived in the Jacksonville area. We have 3 daughters who keep us on our toes! They are 13, 10 and 4. A teenager and a toddler, it means that I'm always ready for anything!
We love to visit the beach. The girls have grown up thus far in West Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. The beach is our soul. We love swimming. So if its warm and the sun is shining we're likely to be near some kind of water. When we're not, we probably are hanging in pajamas or sipping coffee at Starbucks or a local coffee shop. We like to pop in and out of thrift shops, always on a treasure hunt for what we don't know we need. I love to upcycle furniture. Particularly kitchen chairs. Our dining chairs are all painted a different color. And sometimes I'm of the wholehearted belief I still need to collect more.
Motherhood is by far my biggest joy in life, though also the most challenging and often exhausting! I have been a photographer for over 10 years. I've been a "momtog" a "hobbyist" and a "professional" in between having our 3 daughters. I have experience in many different areas. Engagements, weddings, seniors, new babies and families, sporting events, a bit of everything. I've even had the honor of photographing a couple of births, one of which was a home birth that set my heart on fire. I am so excited to do it again! I am a birth junkie. Our 3rd daughter was a home birth with a midwife. I'm really enthusiastic about the opportunity in this new season of my life to dive in and give this my all.
My objective is to create timeless pieces of art that show the beauty of your everyday life. Though a beautifully timed smile with a matching well thought out outfit is definitely beautiful, its not always the honest truth in our lives. I have patiently waited out babies, to stick cute little hats on their heads, to get the perfect swaddle and decided that I need to be a little more real. I am giving myself freedom to move forward in a way that is giving my clients only the very best of me. The artistic freedom where I can capture your truth doing what I know myself to be best at, and Im so excited to share this with you, because I just know you'll love it! Its a different approach than what most people think of in terms of family pictures, but I will say it does feel like more of an art and will hold with it a special charm as it truly does capture moments in time. Your life. Your perfectly imperfect family.
If you feel like this is a good fit, lets talk!
P.S. Being a Military wife, it is also a life long dream to shoot a Military homecoming reunion documentary.
